Stunning natural beauty

Spellbinding scenery, from the breathtaking scenery of the Welsh valleys, Yorkshire and the Scottish Highlands, to the majesty of Northern Ireland’s Causeway Coast, has inspired writers from Shakespeare to Tolkien to Dylan Thomas. 

In the UK, you’ll be able to visit stunning landscapes such as the White Cliffs of Dover, the Brecon Beacons or the ancient, mythical ruins of Stonehenge - a UNESCO World Heritage Site which has been standing since around 2,500 BC. 

‘Belfast is a big and modern city, but it’s also close to the sea. My campus is only about five minutes away and I can see the water from my accommodation. In the afternoons when the weather is good I often go down to take a walk by the sea’.

In addition to the nightlife and music scene, the UK has a wide range of top-class galleries, museums and cinemas that will keep you entertained for days. What’s more, most of them are free for general entry, or offer student discounts for special exhibitions, for example.
